Our Beginnings
Founded in 2017, WAJ Haven Foundation was established in response to the critical needs of rural communities in Uganda. Recognizing that education and healthcare are fundamental pillars of community development, we embarked on a mission to empower individuals through targeted initiatives.
Education Quality and Inclusive Program (EQUIP)
Our flagship project includes the 'GIRL OUTREACH PROJECT (GOP)'—an initiative dedicated to supporting girls' education by providing:
- Menstrual health supplies
- Sensitization sessions
- Essential educational resources
The GOP project addresses the significant barrier of menstruation to education for many girls in rural and underserved communities. By tackling this issue, we aim to:
- Break the stigma surrounding menstruation
- Educate both girls and boys on menstrual health
- Equip young women with confidence and resources to attend school consistently
Community Health And Maternal-Child Nutrition Program (CHAMP)
Expanded in 2022, CHAMP addresses critical aspects of community well-being by integrating:
- Healthcare
- Water and sanitation
- Economic empowerment interventions
CHAMP's key initiatives include:
- Establishing healthcare facilities in underserved areas
- Conducting regular medical outreaches
- Prioritizing maternal and child health
- Providing safe drinking water and improving sanitation facilities
- Promoting hygiene education
- Implementing socio-economic projects
- Offering vocational training and microloans to women and youth
Future Initiatives
We are on the verge of introducing:
- Sustainable agriculture support (seeds, training, and resources)
- Socio-economic projects for women and youth empowerment
WAJ Haven Foundation remains committed to working with communities to identify their needs and co-create solutions that foster long-term development. We believe that by building resilience and empowering individuals, we can create a future where every community member has the opportunity to thrive.
